WEDDINGS/EVENTS ADULTS CHILDREN
A dear friend of mine has a child on the spectrum. During a political event in Dunedin, Florida, I was able to get some images of her to commemorate her attendance at a rally that was very important to children with Autism. During that event, and in taking pictures of Jade, it was clear to me that my style of photography was directly suited to meet her needs. There is no posing of children who have a natural desire to move, to emote and to express themselves in non-traditional ways. I don't pose children in my regular course of work, so I set out to make it my mission to offer parents of autistic children a very unique opportunity.
Although shoots may take a little longer when photographing kids on the Autism spectrum, the results are worth it. I am the one who does all of the work. I move with your child and capture their world as they see it, without trying to work against nature and force your child to pose and sit still. To say the very least, portrait studios and portrait photographers have a very structured style to taking pictures, and that's great, IF they can throw all of that out of the window to photograph children who don't follow the rigors of those parameters. In many cases, however, the rules are set and the expectations are the same for everyone who steps in front of the camera.
This, unfortunately, limits many parents of autistic children the opportunity to get professional and beautiful pictures of their children, and that is a shame. Autistic children often see the beauty in things that other children take for granted - it is this essence that can be captured by someone who is willing to take the time, have the patience and identify those moments that will last forever in a photograph.
If you have been hesitant to try professional photography for your child, are fed up with studios and photographers who aren't willing to try a little harder or do a little more work, then look no further.
Having a child with autism can be a very special experience, but despite the joys that are found, it can also be costly, so I want you to know about my commitment to keeping prices reasonable and working with your family to find the right fit for you. We can go wherever your child feels most comfortable - the park, the beach, at home, and capture their beauty and innocence in a setting that is familiar to them.
Families touched by Autism will receive a 25% discount during the month of April in recognition of Autism Awareness Month.
I service all of Tampa Bay and would like to also serve you.
